Meteor updated with AudioBus support

Meteor is multitrack DAW designed by 4pockets (developers of StompBox so you can expect high quality effects). Audiobus support is a big step forward for Meteor but the app still has problems with user interface and terrible implementation of midi tracks and virtual instruments. I can recommend to use this only for audio recording.

MidiBridge - bus for midi

After Audiobus appeared in AppStore we received the possibility to route audio between music apps. And while you're running several music apps at the same time you may want to control it with midi - it can be just the midi keyboard, midi arpeggiator, sequencer or controller or such devices like iConnect midi with tons of midi ports. So we need midi routing, and there's an app for that.

Here's MIDI Bridge. It identifies MIDI ins and outs and let you link your routes. Want to connect non-compliant with core midi Akai Synthstation to core midi app? Just link it.

Midi Bridge also allows to make some deep settings and complex midi setups: route particular channel to the app, transpose notes, replace channels, filter events, etc.

See few screenshots here to have better understanding on the settings available:

Cubasis tips and tricks: MIDI THRU with MIDI bridge app

There was question on Steinberg forum on how to setup MIDI through in Cubasis -

https://www.steinberg.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=183&t=31847

So here is the trick: you need MIDI bridge app which allows you to make complex midi routing.

And here are screenshots on how it should be set up:

Tutorial: Cubasis and GarageBand/FL Studio instruments

I always were thinking about iPad DAW's as closed apps, you just choose one and make track or at least part of the track in that DAW.

But with virtual MIDI things are changing and even Garage Band doesn't look so closed to external world.

I like how Garage Band instruments sounds but I never finished track there. I don't like FL Studio user interface but they have nice instruments. And I found Cubasis fantastic for composing and arrangement.

So what if we can take advantage of all these apps combining them together... see the video:

Introducing Auria LE - Get Auria DAW for 25$

WaveMachine Labs came with limited (or light) edition of Auria. It looks nice for 25$. For me the only feature I would miss is track freezing beacuse I like to use a lot of these nice plugins at once :) Oh, and Convolution Reverb of course, it is pretty nice. And 8 subgroups :)) Anyway, you always can upgrade to full version option for additional 25$ via in-app purchase.

A lot of people are looking for the answer which iOS DAW is better: Cubasis or Auria, BeatMaker or NanoStudio or may be something else...

We will go through the most popular iPad DAWs. I don’t want to say here that one DAW is better then the others but I want to help you decide which one better suite your needs.

I asked developers to tell about their unique features, future plans and when they will support Audiobus: we've got answers from Auria, Cubasis and FL Studio so far.

Download Lemur template for Animoog

I've posted several videos playing with Lemur and Animoog and people asked me to share the template. So I prepared the package which includes Lemur template, Animoog midi mapping file and short video instruction on how to set this up.

Enjoy playing with Lemur and Animoog! And feel free to change the template in the way you like. I can't wait to see what you can do with this.

You can download the template here - http://lemur-animoog.ipadmusic.com/

If you don't have Animoog or Lemur it is right time to get it from the AppStore:
